ABOUT
The LU MURPH CHALLENGE is a student-led veteran charity event started by Nick Salonites, a senior at Liberty University. The goal of the event is to shed light on the sobering statistics of 22 veteran suicide each day and to raise operational funds for the National Center for Healthy Veterans in Altavisa, VA.
On event day, athletes will be competing in the Murph Challenge, a workout created to honor fallen hero Lt. Michael Patrick Murphy who sacrificed his life to save his team during Operation Red Wings. It begins with a 1-mile run followed by 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, and concluded with another 1-mile run. Additionally, there will be event space for vendors, dining, music, and opportunities to meet VIP guests.

All proceeds from the event will go to the National Center for Healthy Veterans in support of their daily operation of returning healthy veterans to America through a 9-month holistic recovery program.
